BEIJING, CHINA – July 25, 2016 –The China International Chemical Industry Fair (ICIF China) 2016 will be held from September 21-23, 2016 at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center. The event takes on the theme “Innovation Creates Future”, and will showcase new materials, technologies and new equipment for the petrochemical industry.

 

This year’s exhibition has attracted the participation of 250 exhibitors, including numerous large petrochemical enterprises, industrial parks and regional pavilions. CNPC, SINOPEC, CHEMCHINA, SINOCHEM, Yanchang Petroleum, Shanghai Huayi (Group) Company, Luxi Chemical Group, Ningbo Petrochemicals Park, and pavilions from Jilin, Henan and Shandong will be featured and showcase advanced technologies and solutions for the upgrading and transformation of the petrochemical industry.

 

2016 also marks the 15th anniversary of ICIF China, and a range of not-to-be-missed engaging anniversary celebration activities will be held.

 

Aimed at bringing together authoritative industry experts and stimulating the mind of industry players, the “ICIF/SmartChem Conference” will take place during ICIF China 2016. The conference will see the active participation of government departments, industry experts, chemical industry and e-business representatives from home and abroad to discuss key issues, including the use of software, services and Internet of Things technology to reconstruct existing industry systems, and processes.

 

Another session featured will cover policy background and market trends of chemical e-business development from a macroeconomic perspective.

 

At the start of China’s "13th Five-Year Plan", the petrochemical industry is still reeling from excess production and serious problems relating to product structure deterioration and homogenization. Costs continue to rise rapidly, while market demand has slowed down. This calls for urgent improvements in the innovation and market development capabilities of the petrochemical industry.

 

“More intelligent” will be the future development trend for the chemical industry. “Internet+” will play an important role, and affect the entire industry value chain from production, to circulation and consumption. The integration of Internet technology on all levels will bring a profound reform to this traditional industry, and drive transformation and upgrading. It is expected to change the production process and transform the operation mode of oil refining companies, as well as drive the transformation of logistics systems, and change sales and consumption patterns. Network technology will completely change traditional enterprises, which so far focus on products at the center of their operations.

 

Comprehensive e-business service platforms for the petrochemical industry with integrated information, interaction, supply chain and logistics management, as well as payment and financing services are being established at the right moment. These platforms will enable a mobile, vertical search for petrochemicals, collect a large amount of information, and help to solve problems of the traditional industry. With information classification, collection and integration conducted at all times, they play an important role as a super database.

China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF)

CPCIF (formerly the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association) is a non-government, not-for-profit organization consisting of companies, institutes, sectional and local associations in the petroleum and chemical industry on a voluntary basis.
